Accreditation ImagePurdue University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools1, one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States.  Additionally, the College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.

Purdue has received national recognition for the quality of its educational programs:

     •    In 2011, U.S. News & World Report ranked Purdue 23rd among all public universities.

     •    In 2011, Academic Ranking of World Universities placed Purdue 61st, up from 69th last year.

      •   In 2011, QS World University Rankings placed Purdue 85th, up from 87th in lastyear’s survey.
          Purdue’s engineering and technology programs are ranked 31st among universities around the world.


     •   In 2011, SmartMoney magazine ranked Purdue 7th nationally in its college “payback” survey, which
         quantifies the long-term value of a college education.

 
     •   In 2011, U.S. News & World Report ranked several of Purdue’s graduate programs very highly, including
         College of Engineering at 11th, College of Education at  43rd, Krannert School of Management at 49th
         and School of Nursing at 50th.


     •    In 2010 The Wall Street Journal reported that, in a survey of corporaterecruiters, the University was
         ranked fourth in the country among the most effective in preparing students for the workforce.
